Independent Time Based Project



Objective: The independent video project builds on project development and creative analysis from the last two assignments to generate a unique topic for each student. It may be linked to your “Sources” project or be a new idea.

Project:
Use Time based media to explore your idea. How does this media change/expand or manipulate your notion of Time.

What methods do you use to do this? (transitions, point of view etc.)

Process Requirements: Project Proposal
Individual Meetings
Research (Artist or Film)
Approaches from Aspects and Elements of Time

Final Critique: 2-4 minute video and/or sound project
Artist Statement (min. 1 paragraph)

Post Research on Blog
Shoot Raw footage

Individual Meetings (go over storyboard and Proposal)
Open Studio: View Raw footage
Pitch Storyboard idea to 2 people –write down responses

Assignment: Shoot raw footage and preliminary editing
